Recent neuroscience discoveries are helping to improve our understanding of our brain and minds in leaps and bounds at the moment. So I thought it would be interesting to get the perspective from a specialist in neuroscience to help us to better understand our emotions. If we can better understand what’s happening in our brains when we’re overcome with emotion, maybe there’s something we can do about our behaviour that can help us to better cope. Well, at least that was my thinking.
To help me better understand the science behind our emotions, I’m delighted to have Dr Lynda Shaw on the show. Dr Shaw is a neuroscientist with a background in psychology and anthropology, and so in my mind that makes her really well placed to help me answer this. She also writes children’s books!
During our chat, Lynda shares the finding from her research around the unconscious processing of emotions as well as some surprising yet practical tips for boosting our emotional resilience.
Enjoy!
