A few months ago, Jay reached out to me with a concern that many of us can relate to—an upcoming trip to Disney World.

Her excitement about spending time with her boyfriend and his friends was overshadowed by her longstanding fear of amusement park rides. This fear had deep roots, going back to her childhood experiences at Disney, which had left her feeling petrified.

She described her situation:

“I’ve been invited to Disney World by my boyfriend… but I’m soooo not an amusement park person 😅… I just don’t like dark, closed-in places/rides… I remember being so triggered from most rides my family went on. In some cases, I was literally petrified and frozen.

But I want to go and have a good time this time around!

What clearances do you suggest I do to take the excess emotion and fear out, so I can be less triggered by everything?”

She had done plenty of Head Trash Clearance around fear through her tokophobia work, but she knew there were still layers to clear. She wanted to show up differently on this trip, to reclaim the joy she felt had been lost to fear, and to give her younger self a different kind of experience.

Digging into her Theme Park Fears

When Jay described her theme park fears, it was clear that the theme park environment was triggering a range of emotions—fear of the dark, small spaces, the unknown, and the unexpected.

Together, we identified the following themes to work on:

Theme Parks: A broad clearance covering all the intense stimuli like lights, sounds, and unfamiliar experiences.
The Dark: A common fear, especially when combined with enclosed spaces and unpredictable moments.
Going on Rides: Strapping into a ride where you can’t control what’s happening triggers feelings of helplessness and anxiety.
The Unexpected: Those sudden dips, flips, and turns can be a real source of anxiety when you don’t know what’s coming next.

I suggested that she clear THEME PARKS specifically, as this encapsulates so much of what she was struggling with.

From there, we focused on the other triggers — the dark, going on rides, and the fear of the unexpected. She was determined to work through it, not just to enjoy the trip, but to heal a part of herself that had been stuck in fear for years.

The Shift

Fast forward a few months, and I received the most amazing update from Jay. Not only had she gone on the trip, but she’d completely transformed her experience:

“When I went on that Disney World and Universal Studios trip with my boyfriend… I rode nearly every ride in every park!!

My parents absolutely did not believe me when I told them. Even as a kid, amusement park rides terrified me. I was CALM throughout most of them… and I actually enjoyed myself.”

Let’s just pause here for a second.

This is someone who had been frozen with fear as a child, unable to enjoy even the gentler rides. And now? She was riding everything!

It’s such a powerful example of how quickly things can shift once you start clearing the emotional baggage. She mentioned that while some rides were still overstimulating (hello, flashing lights and loud noises), she remained calm and in control—a completely different experience from her past.

But that’s not all. After the theme park trip, she went to the beach with her boyfriend’s parents, something that would have triggered her old fears of the unknown (the ocean!) and lack of control. But guess what?

“The ocean has always creeped me out… But because of all my clearance work in those themes, I was actually the one who got in the ocean the most.

I couldn’t recognize myself!”

This is what Head Trash Clearance is all about—allowing you to not only shift how you show up in difficult situations, but to rewrite your relationship with fear entirely.

A New Way of Showing Up

I absolutely love when clients share these kinds of wins with me because it highlights just how profound these mental shifts can be. Jay didn’t just ride the rides or dip her toes in the ocean—she showed up as a different version of herself, one who was able to embrace adventure, uncertainty, and, most importantly, fun.

“I just wish they all knew me before this whole journey so they could understand the monumental mental shift that I had undertaken.”

These kinds of shifts are exactly why I’m so passionate about this work. Once you start clearing the emotional layers tied to your fears, you’ll be amazed at how different your life can look.

If you’re facing fears that are holding you back from truly enjoying life, Head Trash Clearance can help. Whether it’s fears from childhood, fears of the unknown, or specific anxieties tied to certain situations, you can clear them and open up new possibilities for yourself.
